  I just had the worst customer services experience at Sears Capilano. A month ago a bought a ultra light jacket and yesterday I used the jacket for the first time and was surprised that I was covered in feathers after first use. Product was claearly with defect . Today I went back to the store and explained what happened to the manager called Linda and said I did not have the receipts since I have purchase a month ago . She imediatelly said she could not do anything without the receipt. I said I understand returns policy but this case was a defect in a sears brand product. Then things started go really bad after she said the jacket was last year collection. Then I looked at her and asked if she was suggesting was I lying. Then she said I was rude to her and she would call security . Then she left and a very nice guy called Ally came listened to me and call the store upper manager called Joe. Joe was calm listened apologised and gave me the credit to get another jacket . It is sad I had to be humiliated by Linda in front of many people just to get a defected product exchanged. This was clearly my last trip to Sears.

  Only go there if you know what you want. If you need help, go somewhere else. I've NEVER been able to find a sales representative on the floor. Especially not in the ladies wear or ladies underwear departments. The shoe people are somewhat easier to find.

  Poor shopping experience. No wonder they are going out of business. The service was slow and not the friendliest., but considering their situations is understandable. The store was messy. Options were very limited.

  I bought a lawnmower from their North Van location that was found to be missing nuts and bolts for the assembly. I went back to the store twice to get the parts but they didn't have them. Their customer service based out of the Philippines said they'd send me the parts....never did. I called back and they had no record of the conversation or order. They then said they'd send me the right parts....two weeks later I received some bolts which were the wrong size. I even offered to pay for the right bolts but they told me they couldn't help me. It's no great mystery why Sears are shutting their doors. Incompetence, laziness, a lack of ingenuity and incredibly poor customer service are now the hallmarks with which Sears will be remembered.
